City Color Hypnotic Palette Review & Swatches

city color hypnotic eyeshadow palette review
Spring is around the corner and we're starting to see lots of colorful palettes showing up in stores and online like the Urban Decay Full Spectrum, Kat Von D Pastel Goth, and the City Color Hypnotic Palette ($15.99 at CityColorCosmetics.com).
While I'm not a fan of creating bright, bold eye looks on myself per se, I've seen lots of gals I follow on Instagram rocking absolutely stunning colorful looks. So I wanted to grab this palette and swatch it for you guys, as it could be an affordable alternative to some of the palettes I mentioned earlier.

Stila Matte 'N Metal Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches

I had a little bit of money left over on an Ulta gift card from my birthday in November so when I walked into my local Ulta and saw the new Stila Matte 'N Metal Palette ($49) I grabbed it without a second thought! I have always been tempted by the Kat Von D Metal Matte Palette, especially since I know her formula is amazing, but there are some shades in that palette that I know I'll never wear. Looking at this palette, on the other hand, I knew that I would wear every single shade which is important, especially when you're dropping almost $50 bucks on it.

Flower Beauty Shimmer & Strobe Highlighting Palette Review

flower beauty shimmer and strobe highlighting palette
I've been a fan of Drew Barrymore's makeup line Flower Beauty for a while now, but the new Spring 2017 collection has taken me straight from like to looove in one fell swoop. They are stepping up their game in a major way and kudos to Drew for creating affordable makeup that performs like high-end! I recently reviewed the new Flower Pots blushes (see that post here) so today I wanted to talk about the new Shimmer & Strobe Highlighting Palette ($12.98). It's an amazing quality palette at such an inexpensive price.

Wet n Wild Lash Renegade Mascara Review

wet n wild lash renegade mascara review
It's been ages since I tried a Wet n Wild Mascara, but the new Lash Renegade ($5.99 at Walgreens) caught my attention with its eye-catching packaging and claims of adding volume, length, and curl (I love mascaras that do-it-all).

I've been using it for a couple of weeks now and am ready to share my thoughts with you!

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hydrating Tint & Concealer Review

I recently picked up the new Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hydrating Tint and Hydrating Concealer at CVS and I have to say...I almost didn't buy them because they were really pricey for drugstore products ($17.79 for the foundation and $15.79 for the concealer). Thankfully, Ulta has them for a few dollars cheaper.
I don't even remember the last time I bought anything from Neutrogena because they don't launch products all that often and when they do, nothing is really jumping out at me to make me want to buy them.

But that particular day, my skin was really parched (as it alway is when the temps drop and the heat is running non-stop) and I was feeling frustrated with my usual foundations looking cakey and clinging to dry patches like they always do this time of year. I guess the promise of a foundation that could plump and hydrate my skin for 24 hours with hyaluronic acid sounded pretty darn great at that moment so I took the plunge and purchased both the foundation and the concealer.
Keep on reading to see my thoughts!

Flower Beauty Flower Pots Blush Review & Swatches

flower beauty flower pots blushes
Flower Beauty has just released several new products for Spring 2017 and I went on a major haul yesterday at Walmart (see everything I got here). One of the first things that caught my eye was the Flower Pots Blush ($8.98 each). They reminded me of the Milani Rose blushes as soon as I saw them so I couldn't wait to come home and compare them! NYX Duo Chromatic Illuminating Powder Review & Swatches

I literally squealed when I walked into my local Ulta Beauty and spotted the new NYX Duo Chromatic Illuminating Powders ($7.99 each) along with the rest of their Spring 2017 line. NYX has really been stepping up their game lately, and since I loved the Strobe of Genius Palette that came out last year I had a feeling I'd like these too. They were almost completely sold out when I was there but I was able to get four out of the five shades to review and swatch for you today. Let's take a look!

Tarte Maneater Palette Review & Swatches

The Tarte Maneater Palette ($29) recently launched at Ulta.com and is part of a new collection that also includes the Maneater Mascara ($23), and Maneater Self-Sharpening liner ($20). The warm neutral shades really spoke to me, plus it includes a highlight shade so I decided to take the plunge and try it out! Let's take a closer look...

L'Oreal Infallible Total Cover Foundation Review

L'Oreal Infallible Total Cover Foundation ($10.99) has been popping up at drugstores the past few weeks as a part the new L'Oreal Spring 2017 line. It claims to be full coverage with a weightless feel, and recent advertisements imply that it can even cover tattoos! Read on for my full review and thoughts...

Too Faced Papa Don't Peach Blush Review

too faced papa don't peach blush review
Too Faced Papa Don't Peach Blush ($30) launched last week along with the rest of the Sweet Peach Collection and being the blush hoarder I am, how could I say no? It's cute, it smells like peaches, and it's quickly becoming one of my favorite blush shades of all time.

Tarte Tarteist Eye & Cheek Palette Review & Swatches

tarte tarteist eye and cheek palette review
I picked up the new Tarte Tarteist Eye & Cheek Palette on a whim after seeing photos of it on Instagram. Even though the eyeshadow shades look very similar to other Tarte palettes (like the Tartelette in Bloom for example), I decided to buy it because of its small, travel-friendly size and the fact that it includes a blush (which is a gorgeous color by the way). I purchased it for $30 at Macys.combut later I found out that it's also available as part of a set with 5 full-sized products on QVC.com (the entire set is only $49).

bh Cosmetics Gold Rush Eye & Cheek Palette Review

Today I'm bringing you a highly-requested review of the new bh Cosmetics Gold Rush Eye & Cheek Palette ($11). I've been getting emails and comments on social media from you guys asking me if this palette is worth picking up and I totally understand why! It's gorgeous to look at from the packaging to the color selection and the price is also amazing.

I actually grabbed this on Black Friday weekend as a bundle with the Gold Rush Lip Gloss Set...it was only $12 for both which was a total steal (I can review the lip gloss set in a separate post if you're interested!).

Maybelline Baby Lips Color Balm Crayon Review

I recently spotted the new Maybelline Baby Lips Color Balm Crayon ($5.49 each) at Bed, Bath, & Beyond and I was so excited to try them and then review them for you guys! I'm definitely a fan of the original Baby Lips balms but I don't wear them that much because they're so sheer and I'm often craving a little more color . The idea of a lip balm with the pigmentation of a lipstick sounds amazing but now that I've tried these out I've realized that there are definitely pros and cons.

Maybelline The 24k Nudes Palette Review & Swatches

maybelline the 24k nudes eyeshadow palette review
I was so excited to find the new Maybelline The 24k Nudes Palette ($9.99) at Bed, Bath, & Beyond recently, which might sound a little strange considering I wasn't a fan of the previous versions that Maybelline released.  However, I've been hearing on Maybelline's social media that all of their "nudes" eyeshadow palettes are going to be reformulated, including this one. They claim that the new formula will be more pigmented with a buttery feel. I had very high hopes for this considering it's pretty easy to find nicely pigmented shadows at the drugstore price point these days. So was it worth the hype? Let's take a look!

Tarte Tarteist Pro To Go Amazonian Clay Palette Review

tarte tarteist pro to go eyeshadow palette review
I picked up the Tarte Cosmetics Tarteist Pro To Go Amazonian Clay Palette ($23 at Sephora) on Cyber Monday and it's quite possible that I love it even more than the larger version! From the silky smooth, buttery formula to the shades I would reach for every single day it's a palette I can see myself reaching for a ton.

Tarte Tarteist Pro Glow To Go Palette Review

tarteist pro glow to go palette
I picked up the new Tarte Tarteist Pro Glow To Go Palette ($23 exclusively at Sephora) on Black Friday and I'm so glad I did! When Tarte launched the larger Tarteist Pro Glow palette a few weeks ago I was disappointed because quite a few of the shades looked too dark for my fair complexion. I swatched them in-store at Ulta and the formula felt so awesome...I just couldn't justify spending $45 on a palette that I could only use half of.
Fast forward to Black Friday and I didn't hesitate to snap this one up...all of the shades seemed like they would work for me.

Physicians Formula Highlight & Contour Palette Shimmer Strobing Review & Swatches

I picked up the new Physicians Formula Highlight & Contour Palette ($11.99) in Shimmer Strobing during a recent haul at Bed, Bath, & Beyond and I was so impressed, I couldn't wait to post a review and swatches!
It came with a $3 off coupon attached to the package, plus I was able to use my Bed, Bath, & Beyond 20% off coupon so I was able to get it for a little over $7!

Let's take a look!

Claims:
Get the perfect Glow! Cult-worthy, must-have palette features universally flattering shades in a blendable and buildable shimmer finish. Triple action Bronze Booster, our exclusive blend helps to enhance and extend the life of your tan glow and improve skin's clarity and radiance.

There are instructions on the back of the box that let you know where to place each shade. Personally, I wouldn't want to contour my face with shimmery shades, so I'll probably just use the two lighter shades in this palette to highlight and the deeper shade as an eyeshadow. Physicians Formula also released an all-matte version of this palette, so I would prefer to use that for contouring instead.

Packaging:

The packaging is gorgeous! When I first posted photos on Instagram, I got a lot of comments from people saying that it looked like Chantecaille and other high-end brands. Personally, these compacts remind me of the Hourglass Eyeshadow compacts that came out a few years ago...they're a similar shape with the same deep bronze colored packaging.

Also, I couldn't help but notice the similarities in the shade selection to the limited edition Becca x Jaclyn Hill highlighting palette that came out last year! It included the Shimmering Skin Perfectors in Pearl, Champagne Pop, and Blushed Copper.

I don't own Pearl or Blushed Copper, but I'll do a comparison of the middle shade and Champagne Pop at the end of this post.
Here's what the palette looks like when I'm holding it so you can get an idea of the size. It's not too large and it's thick but not too chunky for travel.

Underneath the powders, there's a well that stores a brush and also a mirror. The brush is surprisingly soft and is actually useful...it does a decent job at applying the product to my cheekbones. I still prefer to blend with a fluffier brush but this would get the job done in a pinch.

Formula:
Looking closely at the highlighters, you can't see any visible glitter...the shimmer is very fine so it gives a beautiful shine to the skin without looking sparkly.

The formula of the powders is gorgeous as well, and very similar to Becca's formula! These are super soft and velvety (and also a little powdery) and they go on very intensely. My swatches below are one swipe of each!

Next to Champagne Pop, the middle shade leans a bit more toward true gold while Champagne Pop is more rose gold. But as you can see, there's no difference in the intensity or pigmentation and they give the same super shiny finish without the glitter.

Final Thoughts:
Overall, if you love highlighters, (or if you missed out on the Becca palette last year) I think you'll be very happy with the Physicians Formula Highlight & Contour Palette. Everything is done very well and has a high-end feel, from the packaging to the actual product. I can't wait to play around with these shades more, and even though I won't be able to use the copper shade as a highlight, it'll make a gorgeous eyeshadow (actually, they can all be used as eyeshadow).

You can find these now at Bed, Bath, & Beyond, Harmon, and Christmas Tree Shops and coming soon to PhysiciansFormula.com and other drugstores.

Mally Beauty Muted Muse Eyeshadow Palette Review

I've been thinking about purchasing the Mally Beauty Muted Muse Eyeshadow Palette ($29) for a while now, but for some reason I never pulled the trigger. Then a few weeks ago, I saw it presented on QVC and that gave me the push I needed to just go ahead and buy it already.

Spoiler alert...I love it!

Pur Cosmetics Elevation Highlighter Palette Review & Swatches

I spotted the new Pur Cosmetics Elevation Palette ($15) at my local Kohls store (it was in the little travel-sized area by the registers) and since I can't resist a highlighting palette I grabbed one to review!

New Revlon Blushes...Hot or Not?

I was at Rite Aid over the weekend and spotted a display of new Revlon blushes. It had the new Insta-Blush sticks as well as the Revlon Powder Blush in "new multifaceted finishes". If you follow me on Instagram, you probably know I wasn't impressed with the Insta-Blush sticks...they barely showed up on my cheeks (I tried three different shades) and when I tried to blend them, they just blended away. Not to mention they were around twelve dollars each so I promptly returned them.

Are the powder blushes any better? Let's take a look...
