City Color Hypnotic Palette Review & Swatches

city color hypnotic eyeshadow palette review
Spring is around the corner and we're starting to see lots of colorful palettes showing up in stores and online like the Urban Decay Full Spectrum, Kat Von D Pastel Goth, and the City Color Hypnotic Palette ($15.99 at CityColorCosmetics.com).
While I'm not a fan of creating bright, bold eye looks on myself per se, I've seen lots of gals I follow on Instagram rocking absolutely stunning colorful looks. So I wanted to grab this palette and swatch it for you guys, as it could be an affordable alternative to some of the palettes I mentioned earlier.

Let's take a look!

NEW J. Cat Beauty Now at Ulta

Happy Weekend guys! Several new J.Cat Beauty products have just dropped at Ulta.com and I'm so excited to see the new highlighters and the beautiful Sunset Boulevard Palette!

I purchased the Sunset Boulevard Palette ($14.99) from the J.Cat website back in early December and quickly posted swatches on my Instagram page. But it sold out before I could write a proper review for the blog (and I hate posting a review on something if you guys can't buy it!). Now I'm excited to finally share my thoughts on it with you guys, and I'm going to get to work writing that review. But in the meantime, here are my swatches (these are not over primer...it's super pigmented!).

Also available now is the White Goddess Highlighter (plus two other shades), which I reviewed back in October (see that post here).

Head on over to Ulta.com to see all the new goodies! They're available online only right now, so you won't find these in Ulta stores. :)

Flower Beauty Shimmer & Strobe Highlighting Palette Review

I've been a fan of Drew Barrymore's makeup line Flower Beauty for a while now, but the new Spring 2017 collection has taken me straight from like to looove in one fell swoop. They are stepping up their game in a major way and kudos to Drew for creating affordable makeup that performs like high-end! I recently reviewed the new Flower Pots blushes (see that post here) so today I wanted to talk about the new Shimmer & Strobe Highlighting Palette ($12.98). It's an amazing quality palette at such an inexpensive price.

Let's take a look!

Wet n Wild Lash Renegade Mascara Review

wet n wild lash renegade mascara review
It's been ages since I tried a Wet n Wild Mascara, but the new Lash Renegade ($5.99 at Walgreens) caught my attention with its eye-catching packaging and claims of adding volume, length, and curl (I love mascaras that do-it-all).

I've been using it for a couple of weeks now and am ready to share my thoughts with you!

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hydrating Tint & Concealer Review

I recently picked up the new Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hydrating Tint and Hydrating Concealer at CVS and I have to say...I almost didn't buy them because they were really pricey for drugstore products ($17.79 for the foundation and $15.79 for the concealer). Thankfully, Ulta has them for a few dollars cheaper.
I don't even remember the last time I bought anything from Neutrogena because they don't launch products all that often and when they do, nothing is really jumping out at me to make me want to buy them.

But that particular day, my skin was really parched (as it alway is when the temps drop and the heat is running non-stop) and I was feeling frustrated with my usual foundations looking cakey and clinging to dry patches like they always do this time of year. I guess the promise of a foundation that could plump and hydrate my skin for 24 hours with hyaluronic acid sounded pretty darn great at that moment so I took the plunge and purchased both the foundation and the concealer.
Keep on reading to see my thoughts!

Flower Beauty Flower Pots Blush Review & Swatches

flower beauty flower pots blushes
Flower Beauty has just released several new products for Spring 2017 and I went on a major haul yesterday at Walmart (see everything I got here). One of the first things that caught my eye was the Flower Pots Blush ($8.98 each). They reminded me of the Milani Rose blushes as soon as I saw them so I couldn't wait to come home and compare them! Let's take a look...

NYX Duo Chromatic Illuminating Powder Review & Swatches

I literally squealed when I walked into my local Ulta Beauty and spotted the new NYX Duo Chromatic Illuminating Powders ($7.99 each) along with the rest of their Spring 2017 line. NYX has really been stepping up their game lately, and since I loved the Strobe of Genius Palette that came out last year I had a feeling I'd like these too. They were almost completely sold out when I was there but I was able to get four out of the five shades to review and swatch for you today. Let's take a look!

NYX Spring 2017 Now at Ulta Beauty!

The NYX Cosmetics Spring 2017 collection including the Duo Chromatic Illuminating Powders, Total Control Drop Foundation, and Perfect Filter Palettes (3 shades) is now available at Ulta.com!

I saw everything in-store last night and picked up the Duo Chromatic Illuminators and Perfect Filter Palette in Golden Hour. Swatches of the illuminators are on my Instagram page now but I'm planning a full review ASAP. I'm bummed that they don't have all of the palettes, as I really wanted a few of the other shades that are on the NYX website. You can see all the shades here.

New Drugstore Sightings at Walgreens- WnW, Garnier, L'oreal & Maybelline

I remember a time when the Spring drugstore releases would arrive in stores in late November/Early December but for some reason this year everyone was late putting things out! I've been stalking the stores the past few weeks but only found a couple of things here and there. Then I walked into Walgreens the other day and all of a sudden there was a ton of new stuff!
Let's take a look...

Advanced Clinicals is Affordable Skincare That Works!

I recently had the opportunity to try some products from a Chicago-based skincare company called Advanced Clinicals and I couldn't wait to share them with you guys! They offer effective formulas that are backed by science, cruelty free, made in the U.S.A. and the best part is...they're affordable. Every product I mention in this post is $20 and under plus I have a 30% off code just for my readers (see below for details).
Let's take a look!

L'Oreal Infallible Total Cover Foundation Review

L'Oreal Infallible Total Cover Foundation ($10.99) has been popping up at drugstores the past few weeks as a part the new L'Oreal Spring 2017 line. It claims to be full coverage with a weightless feel, and recent advertisements imply that it can even cover tattoos! Read on for my full review and thoughts...

My Favorite Winter Mask (and it's really affordable!)

skinfood black sugar honey mask review

I'm probably starting to sound like a broken record but Skinfood is one of my absolute favorite skincare brands...they're effective and affordable which is an unbeatable combination. Today I wanted to share my favorite Winter mask/scrub with you, the Black Sugar Honey Mask ($11.50). I use the original Black Sugar Mask in the Spring and Summer but when the weather gets cold and my skin gets dry I switch to this one because it adds a boost of moisture to my skin while removing dry patches and refining texture.

I picked mine up on the Skinfood website but I just noticed that Ulta recently started carrying it as well!

Let's take a look!

L'Oreal Spring 2017 Available On Amazon

If you've had a bit of trouble locating the new L'Oreal Spring 2017 line at drugstores, you can get your hands on it right now through Amazon.com! Everything (except the eye paints) is ready to ship right away and if you have Prime, it'll get to you in a day or two.

Here's what's new:

  1. Infallible Lip Paints ($7.99)- I reviewed these a few weeks ago and really liked them (see my swatches here).
  2. Infallible Total Cover Foundation  ($10.99)- I purchased this a few weeks ago and have been using it ever since. I plan to post a full review but so far I love it! It's medium to full coverage that's almost completely weightless! It has a mousse-like formula and just melts into the skin with a satin finish.
  3. Infallible Paints Blush Palette ($14.99)- The drugstore is definitely lacking in blush palettes so I'm excited to try this one. The colors look really pretty...at least online!
  4. Infallible Paints Eye Shadow- These aren't available just yet but you can check out the colors online...they're cream eyeshadow duos that claim to be very high-impact with all day wear.
  5. Infallible Paints Eyeliner ($7.99)- These come in six shades and also claim to have high-impact color with all-day wear.
Also, there's a new Concealer Palette and Color Correcting Palette that aren't available just yet but I'm sure they'll be up shortly.

There are also three new blending sponges:

  1. Green Contour Blender ($7.99)
  2. Pink Foundation Blender ($7.99)
  3. Blue Concealer Blender ($7.99)
Have you seen any of these products in stores so far? I've only seen the Lip Paints, Concealer/Color Correcting Palettes, and Total Cover Foundation at Bed, Bath, & Beyond. Nothing in any of the other drugstores yet though.

Walgreens Haul + Swatches of the New Milani Highlighting Palettes

I've been stalking my local drugstores for new products the past couple of weeks and I haven't seen too many new products. Then I walked into Walgreens yesterday and boom! Tons of new Milani, plus a few Rimmel and Jordana products.

Everything was up on the top shelf, too high to get good photos of the displays so instead I decided to just post my haul and show you what I got!

Rimmel has three new eyeshadow palettes called Magnif'eyes Shadow ($7.99 each). I picked up two (the third one was heavy on dark, smoky shades) and will definitely be reviewing them in an upcoming post.

Milani has brand new Face and Eye Strobing Palettes $11.99, (three shades), Contour & Highlight Cream & Liquid Duos, Retouch & Erase Concealers $8.99, Make It Last Setting Spray, and Prime Light Strobing & Pore Minimizing Primer, $9.99.

I got two of the Strobing Palettes (the third one was way too dark for me), the Retouch & Erase Concealer in the shade Fair, and the Prime Light Primer. I'll definitely be reviewing everything in more detail but since I know you're probably all wondering about the Strobing Palettes so I wanted to post some close-ups and swatches for you...

Milani Eye & Face Strobing Palettes in Sun Light and Candle Light
The two shades I picked up are Candle Light (top, cooler toned shades) and Sun Light (bottom, warmer toned shades). They have very clearly defined blush, bronzer, and highlight shades but I'm sure they could also be swirled together to create new shades. They feel super creamy to the touch (just like the Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer) and have a refined pearly glow (no chunky glitter or crazy shimmer). I love them both...the only shade I'm not crazy about is the orangey bronzer in the Sun Light Palette (love the peachy blush and gold highlight in that one though!) The cooler-toned Candle Light version is perfect for my skin tone!

Also, my pal Heather (@hswerdy on Instagram) sent me some photos of new Milani and Jordana products she spotted at her local Walgreens. I didn't see these anywhere!

First up is the Milani Keep It Sweet Sugar Lip Scrub ($9.99). Based on the fact that this one is numbered 02, I'm guessing there's more than one flavor out there.
She also spotted new Jordana Cosmetics creamy contour and strobing sticks ($4.99). She said that this contour stick is in the shade Light (so there are a few different options) and the Strobing Stick is in the shade Pearl Glow.

What do you think of all the new products? Have you seen or tried any of these yet? What's on your list?

bh cosmetics nude rose highlight palette

Do makeup launches ever take a break? I swear every time I turn around there's a new product to drool over! Thankfully, this one is really affordable at only $10.50...it's the bh Cosmetics Nude Rose 4 Color Highlighter Palette.

It contains four shades: icy pink, rose gold, pearl, and pink pearl to add a beautiful glow to the high points of your face.

Here's the description from the bh Cosmetics website:

Create a super-flattering luminous look with our Nude Rose 4 Color Highlighter Palette, a versatile quartet of shimmering shades -- icy pink, rose gold, pearl and pink pearl -- that adds a gorgeous glow and enhances your features. Simply apply the velvety, opalescent powder and blend well to illuminate cheekbones, brow bones, above your cupid's bow and center of bottom lip, along the bridge and center of the nose, to brighten inner corners of eyes -- anywhere light would naturally hit your face. The palette comes in a slim, mirrored metallic case that tucks easily into your handbag.

Will you be picking this one up? Let me know in the comments below! :)

bh Cosmetics Gold Rush Eye & Cheek Palette Review

Today I'm bringing you a highly-requested review of the new bh Cosmetics Gold Rush Eye & Cheek Palette ($11). I've been getting emails and comments on social media from you guys asking me if this palette is worth picking up and I totally understand why! It's gorgeous to look at from the packaging to the color selection and the price is also amazing.

I actually grabbed this on Black Friday weekend as a bundle with the Gold Rush Lip Gloss Set...it was only $12 for both which was a total steal (I can review the lip gloss set in a separate post if you're interested!).

Let's take a look...

New Wet n Wild Products Live Now!

Wet n Wild just released several brand new products on their website, including the new Liquid Catsuit lipsticks, Photo Focus Foundation and Concealer, and more!

If there's something you want, don't wait because these are likely to sell out very quickly!

Find them now at WetnWildBeauty.com

Maybelline Baby Lips Color Balm Crayon Review

I recently spotted the new Maybelline Baby Lips Color Balm Crayon ($5.49 each) at Bed, Bath, & Beyond and I was so excited to try them and then review them for you guys! I'm definitely a fan of the original Baby Lips balms but I don't wear them that much because they're so sheer and I'm often craving a little more color . The idea of a lip balm with the pigmentation of a lipstick sounds amazing but now that I've tried these out I've realized that there are definitely pros and cons.

Let's take a look!
