How To Select The A Good Korean Blusher

If you’re going to buy a blush, here are the few things you need to keep in mind.

The Texture Or Consistency of the Blush
Gel-based or liquid, cream, and powder blushes are the three main types of blushes available. Find out which one suits your skin type the best before making a decision.

Your Skin Type and Texture

Your skin type should have a significant impact on the type of formula you select. You can close your eyes and choose any blush you want if you have normal to combination skin.

However, pick a powder blush if your face is oily or greasy as it can help control the sebum production and reduce shine, giving a matte effect.

Blushes with a cream based formula are best suited for those with dry skin as they are super nourishing and moisturise skin as well.

Pigment Level In The Blush

Nearly all blushes have some colour to it, pick one that suits your taste. Choose a blush with light pigmentation if you want it to be lightweight. However, if you prefer a formula that can be built up, choose one that boasts of excellent pigmentation.

Your Skin Tone and Undertones
The blush should enhance your skin tone, not stand out too much. Light-skinned people look best in various colours of pink including peach and coral.

I also feel that mauve (a pinkish purple tone) and deeper peach tints give the face a gorgeous and natural glow for those with a medium skin tone. An orangey-peach tint will look the best on pale skin. For those with deeper skin tones, warm browns, deep fuchsias, and plums work well.

How I tested the top Korean blushes?

I set a few parameters to test each Korean blush to find the ultimate winner. And then I rated these products on a scale of 1-5.

  • Ease of application – It is important to know how easy it is to apply the blush and whether I could apply it with my fingers too.
  • Pigmentation – I took a look at how pigmented and rich the color of the blush was according to how it was described by the brand.
  • Staying power – I wanted to know how long the blush would stay on my skin with and without the application of makeup.

Korean Blushers Review 2022

You may want to check on the following best options recommended.

Milani Baked Blush

The cruelty-free blush has been on my to-try list for quite some time. This powder blush worked well on my skin.

I tried the Luminoso shade which had a smooth satin finish with a peachy undertone. I liked the slight shimmer it had.

It was a bit dramatic for me but I think it will work well for night events and parties. Although it gives a matte finish it didn’t feel drying at all on my skin.

I could not apply it easily with my fingers and as instructed I used the brush to apply it which was much easier, to be honest.

I like the pigmentation of the product and how I didn’t have to use a lot to get enough color onto my skin.

Once I applied it, the color stayed on for the entire day. I went to work with it and I didn’t have to touch up once which was a big deal.

Pros:

  • A soft peachy shade with shimmer that is perfect for both day and night.
  • It has a soft satin finish that appears matte but feels warm on the skin.
  • It gives a natural blush color which is great for those going for the no-makeup makeup look.
  • It has excellent staying power and can last up to an entire day with or without base makeup.
  • It blends beautifully onto the skin and this allowed me to quickly apply makeup and head out without wasting time.

Cons:

  • A lot of it comes onto the brush if you are not careful and so gently take the required amount. It is easier to start with less than build compared to having too much product from the start.

My ratings:

  • Ease of application: 4/5
  • Pigmentation: 4/5
  • Staying power: 5/5

HAN Skincare Cosmetics All Natural Multistick

I like multisticks in general as they are useful for multiple purposes. I really liked this one from HAN primarily because of how well it worked. I got the Pink Peony shade which was a cool pink color.

It complimented my fair skin tone and gave it a soft glow look. It is a long-lasting blush that doesn’t require touchups after application.

I had to put in some effort to blend it because I wanted it a bit darker than the color that was visible after one application. It gives a natural matte finish which is good for those going for the minimal makeup look.

The pigmentation stays put once you are done with the blending which I appreciated although I did have to touch up after about four hours. I also liked how smooth and lightweight it felt on my skin.

It was easy to apply. It feels creamy during application. I tried it on both with and without makeup. I was surprised with the results because it was awesome both ways!

So even I don’t have time in the morning, I can still apply this blush and head out to work. HAN cosmetics are gluten-free, cruelty-free, vegan, and organic so that’s a major plus!

Pros:

  • I loved how it worked well for lips and eyes as well.
  • It has argan oil, organic shea, and vitamin E that boost skin hydration and allow the blush to stay on for longer without drying out the area.
  • It is devoid of harmful chemicals and is a completely natural product made with certified organic ingredients.
  • The travel-friendly packaging is highly portable and enabled me to carry it when I went to work.

Cons:

  • It doesn’t blend easily which means it takes longer to build a more pigmented color.

My ratings:

  • Ease of application: 5/5
  • Pigmentation: 4/5
  • Staying power: 4/5

Holika Holika Lazy&Easy Blusher

best korean cushion blush

I wanted to try this because of its cute packaging! This blusher has a playdough texture. This is the first time I have tried it. The applicator that comes with the blusher made it simple to apply the blush correctly.

The blush is somewhat moisturizing and this is a good thing for me because I have dry skin. The blush is easily buildable. I tried to get a more intense color and I could easily do that.

I had the fear that it might come out patchy because of the texture. However, there was no problem of that sort.

It applied like a charm and stayed in place for the whole day. This color seems to be only for the light skin toned women because it is a little light itself. I think I see myself occasionally using it during summertime.

I liked it overall but felt like it could be better especially with the color.

I didn’t like the smell either. I am not a fan of fragrance in makeup products and this one had a sweet type of smell. Although I didn’t think it was too strong, I still did not like the smell at all.

Pros:

  • It comes infused with vitamin C fruit complexes that improves circulation and skin texture.
  • It glided on my skin with ease and the air-puff applicator makes application effortless.
  • The color payoff was great and I needed only a little bit of product on both my cheeks.
  • The coral color looked gorgeous on my skin and gave off a radiant vibe without being too dramatic for simple makeup wearers.

Cons:

  • It is only suitable for those who want a natural blush tint on their cheeks.
  • The smell may be off-putting for some and I didn’t like it much myself.

My ratings:

  • Ease of application: 4.5/5
  • Pigmentation: 3.5/5
  • Staying power: 4/5

3CE Mood Recipe Face Blush

I found this blush to be quite lightweight and airy once applied. I forgot that I applied it! It was nice. I tried to apply it with my fingers but it didn’t give the same flawless effect as it did when I applied it with a brush.

On one cheek I used only some blush and blended it out. On the other cheek, I built it up to see how intense it would get.

It was highly pigmented so it didn’t take long to get the desired color. It is a color that will go well on a variety of skin tones.

I feel like it can be a part of my everyday makeup look. While the blush is on the higher side when it comes to its cost, I like that it can help with contouring. I read about this and decided to try it out. It does contour well when done correctly.

It is light in color which gives off a flush-like tone on the skin. I am going to use this blush when I am in need of some pinkish radiance. It did well with and without makeup which is good for people like me who don’t always opt for a full makeup look.

Pros:

  • It gives a natural pink glowy color that suits a variety of skin tones.
  • It was easy to build and the intensity depends on how much product you apply as blush.
  • It is smooth to apply and easy to blend onto the skin which makes it appear natural.
  • It is light on the skin and suitable for everyday makeup.
  • It stays on for a long time and the pigmentation is incredible.

Cons:

  • It cannot be applied with fingers and is best to be used with a brush or the applicator.
  • It is ideal for oily and normal skin mainly.

My ratings:

  • Ease of application: 3.5/5
  • Pigmentation: 4.5/5
  • Staying power: 4.5/5

The options are endless when it comes to Korean blushes and I have tried just four of them until now.

I must admit I was pretty amazed at how well they worked. My favorite was the HANS blush because of the overall easy application, color payoff, and staying power.

The blush is fully vegan and made from organic ingredients which means it is safe for long use. Have you tried the Korean makeup look? Which blush do you use to get that perfect Korean look?
